We are glad to present pictures of our fast forward going repairs process. We have already felt the first results when entering into the space of the forthcoming studio: glass wool ant pieces of acoustic gypsum boards damp most of echo. So we hope, that the final result will be also very good. After all we are going to make acoustic analysis of the room. We will be able to evaluate all measured technical data and of course we will report the result to You.

Well, and this week we found out, that people listen for our radio station working in shops in Italy and in universities of Ireland! Greetings for all of You!

The last week was one of the most successful in 2008 for us. At first: repairs of windows comes to the end. And the other important thing: the door arrived and was installed. The door is specially designed for our sound studio, it is very hermetic and acousticaly isolated.

Happy Easter! Try to do something, what you do not do usually, day by day. Think about good people, about good happenings, about good ideas, about good music, about good movie…, about something good.

As You remember, last week we were we talled You, that we had good specialists who repair our auditoriums. These men are really good. But other jobs stand still. We felt the situation of labour market ant development sector in Lithuania very closely. Lack of people, lack of time, and as the lack of quality as the subsequence. We are happy, that our windows have already arrived, but it is still a question when are they going to be build in. Production of the doors is also out of schedule. These tasks stop our repairings, because we can‘t build construction of walls and other things without a door embeded in its place. So, we are waiting. Hope not for long.

This note „Neliesti“ means in lithuanian „Do not touch“. So, we had to make such a note, because our dean has many guests through the week (as You know our radio equipment is now placed in the dean‘s cabinet). Maybe someone of them will have a wish to sing live on the air while waiting for the dean?

Wonderful people work hard and fast. So we are really going to end everything in the end of april.

Well, our blog comes three days earlier than usual, on friday but not on monday. It’s because of the national holiday. The 11th of March is independence day of Lithuania.

Radio. This week a few important things happened. Finally we received radio automation software from Denmark. Now we will be able to broadcast music with no silence between pieces, to apply different cathegories for music and to make a normal schedule. Also we will be able to play freely trailers, announcements, art brakes and other sounds.

Repairs. We finished the first period – destruction jobs successfully . From Tuesday we will start mounting acoustic material. Also new doors and new windows have to arrive.

The next week seems to be very intensive. We are going to note everything so later we can tell it to You!

Repaires started! So, our radio continues it’s life in the dean’s of Faculty of Humanities cabinet.

In this foto You can see the dean prof. Giedrius Kuprevičius with Jonas Valančius, who is technical director of the radio. They are talking about immediate tasks in the radio. And one of them is repairing process of cabinets where radio station and sound studio for students of „Music technologies“ programme would be established. Few photos of these cabinets:

Much dust, much rubbish, many new questions raised how to do this or this. Few days there was a true cloud of dust in the faculty. But fortunately nobody complained of it. And work is going on: we are waiting for new windows, new door, new walls, new ceiling and for new fans of „Gaudeamus“! Bye !

Hi,

it’s already the third blog of radio station „Gaudeamus“ and we are glad to present the first blog in english ! Hi, our friends in all over the world ! The radio founder is Kaunas University of Technology. Our blog comes every monday. And these are main two facts which you have to know. Do not forget to come to www.gaudeamus.ktu.lt every week and You’ll know all the news about „Gaudeamus“. This week we present a short fotoblog.

The main studio of radio stotion „Gaudeamus“ is based in the Faculty of Humanities. Here we broadcast our programme. But we are going to move to more comfortable place in the same faculty. Of course, at first we have to repair it. Two monthes before last week we made a lot of consultations with architects, engineers and specialists of acoustics. So, temporaly all equipment we carried to the dean’s cabinet. To not disturb the dean we placed it tightly in the corner.

In the same stadium we have a small room where other important glittering and quietly murmuring equipment is connected. It’s used to ensure the best quality of radio signal.
